Adobe Analytics Service Migration 2025

Adobe is migrating a service that impacts the connection between your Adobe Analytics and Metrics for News accounts. Use this guide to complete the migration today.

Adobe is migrating a service that impacts the connection between your Adobe Analytics (AA) and Metrics for News (MFN) accounts. If you use Adobe Analytics to pass data to Metrics for News, then action is required by Adobe’s deadline of June 30, 2025. (Adobe recently extended the deadline; previously the deadline was January 2025.)

Please refer to Adobe’s Migration Guide and Migration FAQs for the most up-to-date information.

What is the Adobe Analytics migration about?

Adobe is increasing security on the connection that shares your Analytics projects with your third parties, such as Metrics for News, by deprecating an existing service (Service Account (JWT)) and implementing a new service (OAuth Server-to-Server).

Please note this migration impacts the connection between your AA projects and the third parties you allow to connect with it. The data within AA or MFN are not impacted.

All MFN accounts using AA should complete this migration by no later than June 30, 2025 to ensure data continues to flow uninterrupted. Complete the migration now and bring modernized security protocols to your connection. (Adobe recently extended the deadline; previously the deadline was January 2025.)

Who should be involved?

Adobe Analytics admins and the technical team at your organization who have access to the Adobe Developer Console and project credentials section should be involved. If you are not an admin, then your organization’s admin will need to complete the migration steps, or work with you to complete them.

Please note that the migration impacts all third-party integrations using AA credentials to connect to your AA account. We can speak only to your integration with MFN, but keep in mind that you will likely need to work with the vendors for any other integrations you may have.

What do I need to do?

Estimated time to complete: 15 minutes

Follow the Quick Steps for a shortened version of the steps, or go further down to the Detailed Steps for a version with more details and visuals. Both sets will give you the same results and you need only do one set.

      2. If you created a new Project in your Adobe account, go to step 5 to add the new Project’s credentials as a new source.
  5. Add a new data source. Complete this step only if you created a new Project in AA, and are NOT using an existing Project.

You may need to return to Adobe's instructions to finish with any remaining steps they require.

You are now using a more secure method for connecting your AA Project to MFN! When Adobe’s deadline arrives, rest assured knowing you have already prepared for it.

What is the timeline?

You can complete the steps at any time as long as they are completed by Adobe’s final migration deadline. Complete the migration now and bring modernized security protocols to your connection

Does the migration impact my data?

While the migration itself does not impact the data in AA or MFN, failure to complete the migration steps by Adobe’s deadline may result in a frozen connection that could stop the flow of data between AA and MFN.

If this happens to your connection, please complete the migration steps as soon as possible. Then submit a ticket or support email for us to import the missing data.

Will my Adobe integrations or applications stop working immediately after I create the new credentials in AA?

No. Any existing integration or application using the Service Account (JWT) credential will continue to work until Adobe’s deadline. The new OAuth credentials you create will not affect your connection to MFN until you enter them in MFN, at which time MFN will switch from the existing (JWT) to the new (OAuth).

What happens if we do not migrate our application by Adobe’s deadline?

According to Adobe: “AA projects on the Developer Console still containing any Service Account (JWT) credentials will be 'frozen' after the deadline. This will disable certificate rotation for your application or any other action to modify the Project or the credential. The ability to migrate will, however, still be available. Once you migrate your application, the Project will be 'unfrozen' again.”

Where can I go with questions?

For questions regarding the Adobe Analytics portion of the migration, we recommend checking their Migration Guide and Migration FAQs or contacting Adobe support. We are limited on troubleshooting Adobe Analytics.

Should you have questions or need assistance with the Metrics for News portion of the migration, please send an email to support@metricsfornews.com or submit a ticket and we will respond shortly.

Thank you for your attention to this vital upgrade!
